CHOICE Partner school SPJP in Janków Przygodzki, Poland, held its Multiplier Event and presented the project outcomes and their pilot activities to local authorithies, schools and their staff, as well as local communities and environmental associations.
The dissemination conference entitled: „Civic education in the context of climate change” took place at the Primary School in Janków Przygodzki on June 13, 2023. Representatives of local governments, representatives of local schools, organisations and institutions operating in the field of environmental protection were invited to participate in the conference.
The aim of the conference was to disseminate the results of the project to a wider audience. The conference was an opportunity to obtain feedback and opinions from relevant stakeholders. In fact, 36 people came to the event. It was a one-day event, during which the various stages of the project, carried out as part of the workshop, and its results were presented.
During the event, the natural values of the region were presented and the importance of civic education for the development of the school community was discussed. The core curricula, which emphasise social development and civic competences, were discussed. In addition, formal opportunities for democratic participation of students in school life (student self-government, school council, parents’ council).
At the end of the meeting, there was a Q&A session during which participants discussed how they would use the materials in their own schools and institutions. During the meeting, leaflets featuring information about the project and contact details, as well as promotional materials, were distributed.
During the meeting, videos from the pilot phase were shown. An important element of the meeting was the presentation by Mr. Dariusz Piechowiak and Mrs. Izabela Płomińska, who represented the Department of Environmental Protection and Municipal Management of the Przygodzice Commune of the „Clean Air” Program, financed by the National Program for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
The main organizers of the conference were: Primary School Powstańców Wielkopolskich in Janków Przygodzki, Parents’ Council, Communal Cultural Center in Przygodzice. We thank all the participants for the high engagement and the interest in CHOICE’s activities and results!
